Ready to quilt

My advent calendar is ready to quilt! I am a bit nervous! I have learned one thing about quilting from this project so far. You have to be meticulous about the measurements and cutting! My poor pockets are wonky! That's okay, it doesn't look too bad for a first timer. ;-)

Trying my hand at quilting

Photo courtesy Sew Mama Sew blog

I have been making clothing for a little over a year now. I feel like it is time to step out and try something different. I absolutely LOVE Christmas so when I found this cute advent calendar on SewMamaSew's blog I had to try it. I have created all the pockets, I am now piecing it together. I don't know the technical terms yet. lol I'll keep you updated on my progress!

Earflap hat

This earflap hat was made from the purple yarn I posted a few days ago.

Yarn dying

I love yarn. I have wanted to experiment with dying yarn but I was a bit apprehensive. I bit the bullet and bought some greener shades dyes. I was very pleased with the way it turned out.
